GOOD TO KNOW
Start with your device
New to IPTV UK? Open the device setup guide first. Already set up? Use the checklist below to narrow down what has changed.

02 / DOWNLOADER APP
Install the tool
your guide needs.
Downloader by AFTVnews is used in some installation guides for compatible Fire OS and Android devices. Use it only when your confirmed player setup calls for it.
Fire TV models can use different operating systems. A Fire OS APK installation guide will not apply to every newer Fire TV device. Check the model and current app options first.
On a compatible Fire OS device
- Open the device’s search or Find option.
- Search for Downloader and select the app by AFTVnews, if available.
- Choose Download or Get, wait for installation, then open the app.
On a compatible Android TV device
- Open the Google Play Store on your TV or box.
- Search for Downloader by AFTVnews.
- Choose Install if the app is available for your device.
Use the current player download supplied for your device. If the app or link differs from an older guide, ask support for the updated setup route.
03 / FIRE TV SETTINGS
Find Developer
Options when needed.
On some Fire OS versions, Developer Options is hidden until it is enabled through the About screen. This is relevant only when a compatible app installation requires that setting.
You do not need ADB debugging to sign in to an IPTV player. Use the ordinary app-store installation route when available.
- Open Settings on your Fire TV.
- Choose My Fire TV, then About if Developer Options is not listed.
- Select your device name seven times.
- Return to My Fire TV to find Developer Options.
- If an app installation requires permission, enable it for the specific installer you intend to use.
Menu labels and permissions differ by model and software version. These steps describe Fire OS; other Fire TV platforms may use a different process.
04 / IPTV TROUBLESHOOTING
Find the issue.
Take it step by step.
Buffering, a blank screen or a spinning loading icon can have different causes. Check one thing at a time so you can tell whether the issue is with the connection, player, account or a particular stream.
Make a note of which channels or programmes are affected and whether the issue happens on another compatible device.
- Check that your internet connection works in another app or website.
- Restart your IPTV player and the viewing device.
- Confirm that your account is active and the login or portal details match your activation email.
- Refresh the playlist or media content in the player, then allow the update to finish.
- Try a different channel or on-demand item to see whether the issue is limited to one stream.
- If playback keeps buffering, check Wi-Fi strength or test a wired connection where your device supports it.
- Contact support with the device, player, affected content and steps you have already tried.
05 / REFRESH YOUR PLAYLIST
Bring your list
up to date.
Players may refresh media automatically, but a manual update can help when the channel list or guide is missing recent changes. The control can be called Update, Reload, Refresh playlist or Refresh EPG.
- Return to the main screen of your IPTV player.
- Look for an Update or Refresh option in the home screen or settings.
- Start the update once and wait for it to finish.
- Reopen the channel list. If the programme guide is still empty, use the player’s separate EPG refresh option where available.
If the app does not show these controls, check its current help instructions or send support the player name. A playlist refresh will not fix an expired account or incorrect login details.

07 / COMMON QUESTIONS
Know what
to check next.
Why is IPTV buffering?
Possible causes include a weak or busy network connection, device load, player settings or a problem affecting a particular stream. Follow the checklist above and note whether more than one channel is affected.
Why are my channels or programme guide missing?
Check your account details, refresh the playlist and use the player’s EPG refresh if it has one. Give the update time to complete before checking again.
Will reinstalling my player fix everything?
Not necessarily. Check your connection, account and playlist first. Before reinstalling, make sure you have your activation details and understand any app-specific setup.
